Great Yarmouth is a seaside resort town, lying on the east coast in Norfolk county. The Great Yarmouth Hippodrome, also known as The Hippodrome Circus was built in 1903 by George Gilbert, an illustrious circus showman and is one of only two custom made long lasting circuses in England that are still functional. In the world, it is one of three that has a circus floor that descends into a pool. The latter was restored in 1981 by the Jay family who bought the building in 1979.
The Great Yarmouth Hippodrome has been labelled as one of the British seaside’s seven wonders. Besides always having exhibited the very best of the highly regarded circus. It has been host to a diversity of entertainment, from wonderful stage shows to cinematic masterpieces and water performances. During the war it was even used as a shooting range for military practice.

Parking at Great Yarmouth Hippodrome
Great Yarmouth Hippodrome doesn’t have it’s own car park, but there are plenty of car parks a short walk from the vicinity.
North Jetty Car Park (NR30 3AH) is a short stay car park with 45 standard spaces and 3 disabled bays. It is a two minute walk from Great Yarmouth Hippodrome.
South Jetty Car park (NR30 3AH) IS a short stay car park with 34 standard spaces and 2 disabled bays and is a one minute walk from Great Yarmouth Hippodrome.
Both car parks are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and charges apply at all times. Blue badge holidays must also pay for parking.

St Nicholas car park (NR30 3JP) is a large long stay car park. It has 554 standard spaces and 23 disabled bays. It lies an eight minute walk from Great Yarmouth Hippodrome.
It is open Monday through Sunday. The car park is closed in the winter. Charges apply at all times and blue badge holders must pay for parking.
Charges (1st April to 31st October, 8.00am to 9.00pm):

There is also on street parking available on a first come first serve basis along Marine Parade which depending on where you park is between a one and five minute walk from Great Yarmouth Hippodrome.

Public Transport
By Train:
Great Yarmouth train station (NR30 1SD) is a seven minute drive or a 21 minute walk away from Great Yarmouth Hippodrome.
It serves the Great Yarmouth area and has direct trains into Norwich only. From Norwich you can get trains to the North, London and East of England.
By Bus:
There are ample bus services in the Great Yarmouth and wider area.
The number 2 bus stops a five minute walk away from Victoria Road.
The following buses stop at Market Gates: 1, 1A, 6, 6A, 6B, 8,X1, X11, 901, 907, 909 and 983 which is around a 10 minute walk away.
By Car:
Great Yarmouth Hippodrome resides on St George’s Road, right close to the east coast sea front.
The A47 road runs directly from Norwich and through to the Midlands area.
From London use the A12.

On Foot:
Buses stop a five to 10 minute walk away, Great Yarmouth train station is 21 minute walk away.
By Plane:
Norwich International airport is a 40 minute drive or a one hour 25 minute bus journey (1 change) away from Great Yarmouth Hippodrome. This small airport offers flights across the UK and destinations throughout Spain and Greece.
Disabled Parking at Great Yarmouth Hippodrome
There are disabled bays in the three car parks closest to the Great Yarmouth Hippodrome. North Jetty Car Park has 3, South Jetty Car park has 2 and St Nicholas car park has 23 disabled bays.
Parking charges apply at all times in these car parks for blue badge holders. Blue badge holders who park in disabled bays must display their badges at all times.
There is free on street parking along Marine Parade from 1st November to 31st March and £7.00 all day from 1st April to 31st October. There are no marked disabled bays, but anyone car park along the seafront.

Overnight, Weekends & Bank Holidays
In all three car parks, charges apply on weekends and bank holidays.
In North and South Jetty car park the charge for overnight is £1.50.
