Parking in Cambridge Station
Parking at Cambridge Train Station
Cambridge has a wealth to explore on its doorstep, from beautiful cobbled streets that twist through the City centre, flanked by historic buildings and colleges, to the lovely Cam river which is a delight to take in any time of the year – or the thriving Arts Scene.
If you’re in Cambridge for the day and looking for some culture, head to Kettle’s Yard, the Fitzwilliam Museum and the Round Church after you’ve taken in bustling Market Square. It's a fantastic city to explore, on foot, by bike, river punt or car!
Parking at Cambridge Train Station can be ideal for your day out as the city centre is under 1/2h walk from the station. Parking at the station means you can explore the city on foot. You can park near Cambridge Station arrivals and will be well placed to set off from Station departures which are located in the same part of the station. There is also bike parking, as well as bike hire shops next to the station if you are looking to see the city by bike.
Much of the on-street Cambridge parking in the city centre is restricted to residents' parking zones. Commuting into the town centre by car is not a viable option for most, and it is hard to find reasonably priced parking in the centre. You can find short-stay parking or long stay parking at Cambridge railway station on the YourParkingSpace app or online search map.

Don’t get lost in the one-way systems around the city centre looking for parking. YourParkingSpace is available 24 hours of the day, and offers hassle-free solutions to parking problems at any time of day or night.
Parking in Central Cambridge
Parking in central Cambridge is tricky, as the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) is enforced every day of the week. This means that every street has some kind of parking restriction. Parking restrictions to look out for are:
- Pay and Display car parks
- Double yellow lines, where you can't park
- Single yellow lines, where you can only park at some times. Be sure to check the signs when parking on these
- Kerb flashes showing loading restrictions
In the rest of the Cambridge City Council Area, parking restrictions are mostly found on bus routes and main roads to keep the traffic moving. Restrictions in residential areas make schools, junctions and crossings safer. In Cambridge, much of the parking is in pay and display car parks or multi-storey car parks. The most popular central car parks are Grafton East car park, Grafton West car park, Grand Arcade car park, Park Street car park and Queen Anne Terrace car park. There is also parking around Addenbrookes Hospital. You can check how many spaces are available online through the Cambridge Council website.
Avoid circling the car parks, and head to check out availability on the go on our App. On the YourParkingSpace map, we make sure that we only offer parking spaces that you are entitled to park in, so there are no surprise fines through the letterbox!
