There is also a car park at the Manor Park Country Park. There are 100 parking spaces in this car park, including 5 disabled spaces, as well as 30 spaces in an overflow car park nearby. From Monday to Friday, it costs £1.30 per day to park here. During the weekend and on bank holidays, it costs £2 per day to park here. 

The Leybourne Lakes Country Park has its own car park which is open from 7:30am until dusk. You can park in this car park all day, but you should leave before the car park closes. If you don’t move your car before closing, it will be locked overnight, and you may face a parking ticket. The cost of parking in this car park is £1.20 for under 4 hours, and £4 for over 4 hours of parking.

St Leonard's Tower is thought to be the only remaining part of a castle that was built between 1077 and 1108 by Gundulf, Bishop of Rochester, who founded St Mary’s Abbey. Others think it might have been built by the Bishop Odo of Bayeux, who was the half-brother of William the Conqueror. 

Near St Leonard's Tower is the Manor Park Country Park. It stretches over 52 acres and has a café and a picnic area, walking trails and routes, and a children’s play area. The park is open from 9am to 9pm during the summer, and it closes at dusk during the winter. The Manor Park Café is open on Fridays from 11am to 4pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 5pm. There are also accessible toilets and a car park. 

The Leybourne Lakes Country Park is about 7-minutes’ drive from West Malling. Here, you’ll find a café open from 11am to 3pm daily during summer holidays, weekends and bank holidays, as well as a picnic area, toilets, play area, cycling and walking paths. You can go windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, scuba diving and open water swimming at the Leybourne Lakes Water Sports Centre.

Has anyone famous ever lived in West Malling? 

During the Second World War, the Wing Commander Guy Penrose Gibson was stationed at the RAF West Malling. He led the famous Dam Busters raid in 1943, where bouncing bombs were used to destroy two dams and cause extensive flooding across the Ruhr area of Germany. He was awarded the Victoria Cross and completed over 170 operations before he was killed in action in 2944.
