Stretford is home to around 50,000 people and is where you can find the iconic Longford Cinema. This Grade II listed building is opposite Stretford Mall, and was built in 1936. At the time, it was known for modern features like sound-proofing, under-seat heating, and neon lighting. Julie Andrews even performed here before the cinema was damaged during the Manchester Blitz of 1940. It closed in 1995 and has been unused ever since, but is still an iconic part of the town.

If you’re looking for parking at Stretford Mall, there is a surface level car park and a multi-storey car park available on-site. The Lacy Street car park offers 2 hours of free parking and charges £1 for anything over 2 hours. The charging hours are from Monday to Saturday, from 8 am to 6pm, and the car park has 93 spaces in total. You will also find disabled parking here, as well as electric vehicle parking.
