Ainsdale beach is a popular sandy beach located near Southport in Merseyside managed by Sefton Coast and Countryside Service. It holds an esteemed title of being the only beach in the whole of the North West to have been presented with the international blue flag (in 2004 and 2006), as well as the Quality Coast Award.
Ainsdale beach is now credited as being one of the leading beaches in the whole of the UK for Extreme Kite activities and even has dedicated zones for landboard, kite buggy and kitesurfing. Permits are necessary before the use of a power kite in specified kite zones.
Just across the way from the beach is the Ainsdale Discovery Centre, which offers information about the local surroundings, has a classroom facility that can be hired out, along with a venue for different events. It even has free cycle hire and is open throughout the whole of the summer months.
The Ainsdale and Birkdale Sandhills Local Nature reserve within the beach is a well-liked and highly popular for educational visits from both colleges and schools and numerous events occur throughout the year. A short walk away from the beach is Ainsdale Village which has a variety of eateries and retailers.

Parking at Ainsdale beach
Parking is available at Ainsdale beach (PR8 2QB) from 1st April to the 30th September. However, it must be noted that since parking is on the beach itself, you can be affected by weather, the tide or organised events.
There is an all day charge of £8.00, payment is cash only.

By Train:
Ainsdale train station which is located on Mersey Rails Northern Line service. It serves the village of Ainsdale.
It has trains which run to Southport and Hunts Cross and a direct train into Liverpool Central.
It is a four minute drive, a 15 minute bus or an 18 minute walk from Ainsdale beach.

Ainsdale beach lies off of Shore Road on the North West coast of England. The A565 is the nearest major A road which runs all the way into the heart of Liverpool. The M62 runs out of the city and joins to the M6, spanning to the Midlands and then branches off allowing travel to the South West, West and South and then London and the East.
