The pool is not just set up for competition level swimming, it is also utilised by those having lessons for kayaking, diving and scuba diving, alongside being open for the general public to swim in the public lanes.

Ponds Forge was a venue for Channel Fours (C4) TV programme ‘The Games’, whereby celebrities battled against each other in an assortment of different events, in the 2000s.

By Train:

Sheffield train station (S1 2BP) is a mere 3 minute drive and a 9 minute walk or bus journey from Ponds Forge.

The train station is operated by 4 different train lines, Northern, Transpennie, Cross Country and East Midlands.

There are direct trains into the capital, London St Pancras and Manchester Piccadilly, Newcastle and Leeds. Then as far South West as Plymouth.

Sheffield has an extensive Supertram service. It is run by Stagecoach and serves the city of Sheffield and Rotherham.
