King’s Cross/Platform 9 3/4 (7 mins from British Library): Theatres, bars, cafes, and restaurants surround this busy station. Harry Potter fans can visit Platform 9 ¾ and the Harry Potter Shop. 

London Canal Museum (15 mins from British Library): Somewhat of a hidden treasure, this reasonably priced waterside museum tells the story of London’s canals and the Victorian ice trade.

The Charles Dickens Museum (20 minutes from British Library): Home to the world's most important Dickens collection, Dickens’s only surviving London house at 48 Doughty Street allows visitors to experience and learn more about the great novelist and social commentator.

There are numerous train and bus stations nearby. The area also features covered and uncovered cycleways. 

By Train: Kings Cross and St Pancras International, and Euston Station are close by.

By Tube: King's Cross St. Pancras, Euston, and Euston Square Station are close by.

By Bus: There are many bus services available, including 10, 30, 59, 63, 73 and 91.

By Cycle: From central London, the recommended cycle route is via Tavistock Place and Cartwright Gardens.

Parking for blue badge holders is available on the west side of the library (7 bays). Parking is located 100 metres from the main library entrance and is fully ramped.

The city of London does not generally enforce parking restrictions for pay and display bays on bank holidays, and parking is generally free on a Sunday. Exceptions apply, so please ensure that you read nearby signage before leaving your car to avoid hefty fines.
