Pilgrim Hospital is located on Sibsey Road in Boston, just across from Boston High School. It opened in 1976 and services the South and South East Lincolnshire areas. It has a new 24-hour Accident and Emergency Department, and a state of the art Intensive Care Unit which cost £4 million to build. The hospital is named Pilgrim Hospital after the English pilgrims that sailed to settle America in the 17th century.
The hospital has a café and a separate restaurant, as well as a snack bar and vending machines. There is a store where you can buy snacks, toiletries, clothing, gifts, cards and books, as well as use a cash machine. The hospital also has internet access, a pharmacy, prayer room, and public telephones.

Parking near Pilgrim Hospital
You will find Pilgrim Hospital parking on site, however, it is limited and visitors to the hospital are advised to use public transport wherever possible. There are also drop-off zones in front of the main entrance and by the A&E and outpatients areas, where you can park for up to 20 minutes. For those biking or riding their motorcycle to the hospital, there are dedicated parking spaces out near the front of the hospital close to the main entrance.
The main car park is located outside of the main entrance and operates using an automatic registration recognition system. There are over 500 spaces available. Cameras will take photos of your number plate when you enter the car park. When you want to leave, you’ll need to use one of the pay kiosks and enter your car’s number plate. The system automatically calculates how long you’ve been in the park and how much you need to pay. You can pay with coins, notes, or your card, or you can pay on the good2go website. The charges for using the car park are as follows:
- Up to 1 hour: £1.70
- 1 - 4 hours: £4.20
- Over 4 hours (patients and their visitors): £5.00
- Blue Badge holders (daily charge): £1.90
- Motorcycle parking: Free of charge
If you are receiving treatment at the hospital, or visiting a patient at the hospital, you won’t be asked to pay more than £5.00 per day for parking.
Free parking is available for the following people:
- Oncology patients receiving regular treatment
- Those collecting prescriptions or hearing aid batteries
- Parents supporting a child in the special care baby unit
- Clergy visiting parishioners
- Anyone who has just suffered a bereavement
- Adults bringing children in for emergency treatment
Otherwise, anyone regularly visiting the hospital can purchase 10 days worth of flexible parking for £20 from the main reception. This pass will be valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.

Disabled Parking at Pilgrim Hospital
Blue badge holders will be eligible for a parking concession. On your first visit to the hospital, leave your clock in your vehicle and take your badge to reception along with some photo ID to be given a special barcode voucher to use at the payment kiosk. From then on, you will use this voucher to pay each time you park. Blue badge holders will only need to pay a discounted amount of £1.90 per day.

Does Pilgrim Hospital have any shops?
There is a café inside the main entrance open 7 days a week, and a restaurant open from Monday to Friday. There is also a snack bar in the outpatients waiting area which is open from Monday to Friday, as well as vending machines throughout the hospital. The Pantry is a shop with snacks, gifts, cards, clothing, books and toiletries, as well as a cash machine.
