The main campus for Bedford College is located on Cauldwell Road in the centre of Bedford, with another campus out in Kempston. It was first established in 1959, and merged with Tresham College in 2017. It was awarded Beacon Status by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills in 2009, recognising it as one of the best further education colleges in the UK.
The Learning Resource Centre has around 30,000 items, including a growing number of electronic resources. The college also offers industry-class workshops and a common room for students to relax and socialise in. The South Bank Arts Centre has graphic design suites, photography suites, art rooms, fashion and textile workshops, recording studios, video studios, a dance studio and theatre. There’s also a sport and leisure centre which has a fitness studio and a full-sized sports hall. The hair and beauty salon is home to modern hairdressing facilities, several treatment areas with therapy beds, and a nail bar. The vehicle technology centre offers engine and repair bays, paint mix and spray rooms, and a vehicle body repair area. The gas and plumbing technology centre is a British Plumbing Employers Council approved training centre.
