Northala Fields is a park with a lake and playgrounds on Kensington Road in the Northolt area, about 15 minutes’ drive from Harrow, and 40 minutes’ drive from the centre of London. It’s also just 15 minutes’ drive from Heathrow Airport. 

You’ll find two playgrounds, a model boating lake, six fishing lakes, and three wildlife ponds across 27.5 hectares of open space. It opened in 2008 and was awarded a Green Flag in 2009. The park is open to pedestrians and cyclists 24 hours a day, with a number of stands to lock your bike up throughout the park. 

There is also a visitors' centre which has a café, public toilets, classrooms for educational visits, and a fishing office where you can find out about the fishing opportunities in the lakes in the park. The hills in the park are constructed on rubble from the demolition of the original Wembley Stadium. From the top, you can enjoy unbeatable views of London. 

The Get Hooked on Fishing programme operates in the park. They’re a charity which works with young people and teaches them about fishing. For a small fee, you can apply for a fishing license from the council, which will allow you to fish in the lake.

You will find parking at Northala Fields at the on-site car park. This park opens at 7:30am, and closing times vary depending on the month:

Another option for Northala Fields parking is the council-run Greenford Broadway Car Park, which is about 30 minutes’ walk away. It has 149 spaces, with 10 disabled parking bays and 3 motorcycle bays, It is open from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Sunday, and costs £0.90 per hour. A season ticket for this car park costs £250.00. 

If you’re travelling into Harrow, the St George's Shopping Centre car park has 643 spaces in total, with 26 disabled parking spaces. St Ann's Shopping Centre car park has 940 spaces (including disabled parking and parking for families with small children) and is available 24 hours a day.

The Dinosaur Escape Adventure Golf is a mini-golf course nearby, located in the West London Family Golf Centre. You’re even welcome to bring your dog along as you try out the 18-hole course. There’s a restaurant too, as well as life-size dinosaurs that move and roar along the course. It’ll cost £20 for up to two players, £30 for up to 4 players, and £37.50 for up to 5 players. 

About 15 minutes’ drive away, in the centre of Harrow, you’ll find the shopping centre made up of St George's Shopping Centre and St Ann's Shopping Centre. You’ll find brands like Boots, H&M, Pandora, Sky, Smiggle, McDonald’s, Nando’s, Pizza Express, Starbucks, Burger King, Claire’s, KFC, Krispy Kreme, Pizza Hut, Primark, and Subway here, plus a Vue cinema and a gym. The shopping centres offer Amazon lockers, toilets (including accessible toilets), baby changing facilities, lifts, ATMs, first-aid, shopmobility, security and 24-hour CCTV, photo booths, free Wi-F, and free water bottle refills
