Parking in The Riverfront

The Riverfront Arts Centre opened in 2004 with a concert by Welsh mezzo-soprano Katherine Jenkins and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Once voted Wales’s second ugliest building and yet still one of the country’s most popular theatrical venues, it sits on the west bank of the River Usk. A 15th century ship was found immersed in the mud of the riverbank during digging for the Riverfront’s orchestra pit. There were hopes that the ship could be displayed in the basement of the arts centre, but this proved impractical due to its size.
