Maidstone Hospital is a hospital located in Barming in Maidstone residing in the East of England, 40 miles from the capital London. The hospital is controlled by the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
The hospital opened in 1983 and was built to replace the West Kent hospital and since then, multiple wings and extensions have been added. These include a new self-contained orthopaedic unit, a new Eye, Ear and Mouth unit and the Peggy Wood Breast Care Centre.
This followed the new two million Emergency Care Centre, the first of its kind in England that provides full Accident and Emergency (A&E) services, a General Practice (GP) out of hours service and a walk in centre, residing all under one roof. In 2017, the specialist oncology centre that delivers high standard cancer services invested in a new modern and top quality radiotherapy equipment. It is the fifth largest cancer centre and one of the top performing within the whole of the country.
