Orders are now being taken for the Volkswagen ID.4, with the pure-electric SUV starting at £37,800 with a range of 310 miles on a single charge.
The ID.4 1st Edition uses a 77 kWh battery, driving a 204 hp electric motor. The second model to come along in the electric-only ID. sub-brand - after the ID.3 hatchback - the family focused ID.4 completes the 0-62 mph sprint in 8.5 seconds and has a top speed of 99 mph.
The 1st Edition models are available with a choice of four colours - Glacier White, Blue Dusk, Manganese Grey, and Honey Yellow. The interior comes trimmed largely in grey, with pale grey and brown highlights.
Kit includes a 10-inch infotainment system, 20-inch alloys, adaptive cruise control, lane and front assist, parking sensors front and rear, heated seats and steering wheel, and VW’s ID. Light system.
Charging is possible at up to 125 kW from ultra-rapid points, allowing for a charge to 80% in just 30 minutes. Additional variants will become available after the 1st Edition is sold out, with different battery and power options, including entry level models and all-wheel drive versions due to arrive, following the same structure as the ID.3.
Pricing starts at £37,800 (inc. Plug-in Car Grant), with the first models set to arrive in dealerships in March.
