Porsche has launched the Taycan Sport Turismo, adding an estate version to the pure-EV line-up which already includes the Taycan performance saloon and Taycan Cross Turismo crossover-estate.
The Stuttgart firm has also added a GTS badge to the Taycan range, fitting a 93.4 kWh battery and 440 kW (598 hp) to both saloon and estate variants. Both will reach 0-62mph in just 3.7 seconds. High-power charging is also available, with the Porsche Taycan range one of the fastest charging models on the market.
Having first appeared on the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS in 1963, the GTS badge indicates a driver focused car, and is now available on every core model from Porsche.
The Taycan GTS has a range of up to 312 miles on a charge, and all-wheel drive from twin electric motors. This sees Porsche's recently rolled-out drivetrain efficiency improvements automatically fitted to the most recently launched models.
Subtle styling changes include black highlights outside such as the bottom of the front bumper and wing mirrors, as well as the ise of black Race-Tex material inside.
The Taycan Sport Turismo looks to combine the practicality of the Cross Turismo's estate shape, but with lower suspension, sitting with a similar stance to the Taycan saloon. Styling mirrors the saloon more than the Cross Turismo too.
Porsche has also added a panoramic roof with variable light control as an option to the Taycan GTS. This sees an electrically switchable liquid crystal film change the panoramic sunroof from clear to opaque - protecting the ocupants from glare without darkening the interior.
The roof is divided into nine sections which can be individually switched, with clear, matte, and partial shading options available in predefined patterns.
Pricing is already available for the Porsche Taycan GTS range, with the saloon starting drom £104,190 and the GTS Sport Turismo available from £104,990. Both models are available to order now, and deliveries will start in spring 2022. Further motor options for the Sport Turismo will be made available in due course, with expectations that it will mirrir the Taycan range.
