The new Mercedes-Benz eVito has been revealed, now fitted with a 66 kWh battery pack, enabling a range of up to 162 miles on a charge.
Rapid charging at up to 80 kW is also fitted to the eVito, which means that topping up to 80% will take half an hour or less in most cases, adding an additional 100 miles or so of range.
The combination of larger battery and faster charging means the eVito is likely to comfortably cover the needs of a great deal more business users who could benefit from going electric.
With the lowest tax costs, reduced fuel prices, and exemption from Clean Air Zones and the like, businesses can save thousands each year by switching to an electric van.
AC charging is possible at up to 11 kW for those premises that have three-phase supply, and there is a new D-Auto mode fitted, which allows the eVito to automatically pick when’s best to coast or pick a stronger level of brake energy recuperation.
Payload is up to 807kg, and there are various connected vehicle features available such as pre-conditioning, and checking on charging or state of charge through an app.
Pricing starts at £43,500 (exc. VAT and Plug-in Van Grant - currently worth £5,000). Order books are open now and deliveries are expected to start in March.
