Hereford County Hospital is a hospital with 208 beds located in Hereford. It is operated by the Wye Valley NHS Trust.

The County Hospital was established in 2008 as the area’s leading centre for acute hospital care, providing a wide range of services across Herefordshire and parts of Wales.

Parking is limited at Hereford County Hospital, and as such, patients are encouraged to allow themselves plenty of time to find a car park or use public transport.

There are two main types of car parking available: Pay on Exit and Pay and Display.

Pay on Exit

The three main car parks are located at the front of the hospital. They are controlled by a barrier. 

To use this car park you will need to collect a ticket at the barrier by pressing a button and pay at a pay station on your way out. The machine takes both notes and coins.

Once you have paid in full at the machine, the ticket will be returned to you. insert the ticket into the exit barrier machine and it will raise so you can drive out.

Pay and Display

There are two pay and display car parks: in front of Accident & Emergency and adjacent to the Fred Bulmer Building. 

The pay and display ticket dispensers are situated next to each of the parking areas.

Drop off

There is a ‘drop off point’ by the main entrance.

Some parking concessions are available, including:

• A&E: where initial treatment is not received within the four hours
• Outpatient departments: when a visit to the clinic exceeds the two-hours local standard due to delays caused by the hospital
• Paediatrics and Women’s Health Outpatient departments: when a visit to the clinic exceed the local three-hour standard due to delays caused by the hospital
• Parents/carers of children staying overnight
