When was the Piece Hall Halifax built? 

The hall was built in 1779 and was used for trading pieces of cloth. It was a hugely ambitious build, and was a statement of the wealth of the cloth manufacturers at the time. It’s the only surviving cloth hall of Northern England still standing today.
