The Chessington World of Adventures is a theme park about 40 minutes’ drive out of central London. There are more than 40 rides and attractions, and over 4,000 animals in the Zoo and SEA LIFE centre. 

By purchasing tickets in advance, you can save up to 38% on admission, and there are also options for annual passes. The Chessington World of Adventures has the Safari & Azteca Hotel for overnight stays, and you can choose from themed or standard rooms. If you’re staying at the hotel, you can enjoy the rides from 9am, before the park opens at 10am. There is also a bed and breakfast and glamping facilities, as well as a Savannah Splash Pool & Gym, VIP animal experiences, and a wide range of daily events such as talks and animal feedings. 

The park also has plenty of restaurants, so you can dig into a burger, pizza, or smoked meat at the BBQ and bar. There are also a number of stores, so you can bring home a souvenir of your trip.

The Chessington North train station is another 15 minutes’ walk from the Chessington South train station, and the cost of parking here is the same as the Chessington South train station.

The Epsom Common was bought by the Epsom Borough Council in 1935, and was designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest in the 1950s. It covers 176 hectares and is open year-round. There are trails for walking and running, cycling, and horse riding. It also welcomes dogs, and you can go fishing in the Stew Pond. There is an annual history walk which takes you on a three-hour walk around the common. 

The Hobbledown Adventure Farm Park and Zoo is home to lemurs, parrots, camels, eagles, owls, falcons, meerkats, wallabies, otters, prairie dogs, goats, alpacas, peacocks, and deer. There are play areas for the kids, including an indoor play barn, plus a high ropes course and a Zorbing Arena.

By Train: The Chessington South train station is a 20-minute walk from the Chessington World of Adventures and services the South Western Railway line. 

By Bus: A handful of bus lines stop at the Chessington World of Adventures, including 71, 465, and N65. 

By Car: The Chessington World of Adventures is located on the A243, Leatherhead Road, just out of Chessington, and about 40 minutes’ drive from central London. 

By Plane: Heathrow Airport is about 35 minutes’ drive from the Chessington World of Adventures. 

There is disabled parking available within the on-site car park at the Chessington World of Adventures. When using the disabled Chessington World of Adventures parking, you must display your blue badge, and the cost still applies.

How much do passes for the Chessington World of Adventures cost? 

A 1-day ticket costs £48 if you purchase it on the day, and it will cost £29.50 if you purchase it in advance. An adult and preschooler ticket starts from £25 and can be used for an adult and preschooler aged 4 years and under. Please note that this ticket is only available on off-peak days and must be booked at least a day in advance. The Chessington annual pass starts at £65 and gives a year’s entry to the Theme Park, Zoo, and SEA LIFE, as well as discounts on accommodation and VIP animal experiences. The Merlin annual pass gives entry to 30 top UK attractions, free parking, a 20% discount on food, drink and retail, and discounted entry for family and friends. 

How many animals does the zoo have? 

There are around 1,000 animals here, including penguins, lions, capybara, gorillas, giraffes, zebra, ostrich, rhinos, monkeys, tigers, sea lions, monkeys, leopards, otters, sharks, stingrays, seahorses, tortoises, iguana, and gazelles.
